Tamar began her creative journey in the performing arts, studying both acting and costume design at Indiana University.
After five years as a professional actor, she welcomed her first child and decided to high-tail it out of Los Angeles. Over the next eight years, she embarked on a rollercoaster of experiences – three kids, three cross-country moves (CA-MN-CA-MN) and a self-taught transformation into a graphic and web designer. Life found its rhythm as the kids started school, and Tamar set up her creative sanctuary at home.
The turning point came with a single Google search. Engrossed in one of her many jigsaw puzzles, Tamar wondered how artists get their work onto those cardboard pieces. That curiosity was the spark that ignited her journey into the realms of art licensing and surface pattern design. For the next six months, driven by an insatiable passion, she embarked on a whirlwind of classes and late nights creating repeat patterns.
Today, Tamar is all-in on surface pattern design, brimming with excitement for what’s on the horizon. Her artistic mission is simple: to craft vibrant, playful patterns that spread joy and inspire creativity.
At the core of her creative practice lies an unwavering curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. She firmly believes that learning is a lifelong adventure, and she approaches each project as an opportunity to broaden her skills and explore fresh techniques and styles.
